INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Mt Possession Angus annual bull sale
Welcome to Mt Possession Angus annual Bull Sale. The
stud herd was started with the purchase of Cows and
Heifer’s from Bruce Alexander’s Goldwyn herd. The
Stud cows are run as part of the 1000 Cow herd at Mt
Possession / Hakatere station.
The focus is on producing productive females with the
constitution, capacity and structure to thrive in this
environment with the performance to produce progeny
that perform in the finishing program.

All surplus progeny is finished within the Whyte Farming
group, with the Steer’s exceptional performance within
branded programs such as SFF’s EQ with hit rates in the
90% plus and ANZCO’s Natural Beef program, with carcass
weights averaging 330kg over the last few years with all
killed before 24 months, 18 month steers killed in March
averaged 325kg cwt.
The Bulls in this catalogue are all born on Hakatere
Station at 700m asl and developed here on cocksfoot
based pasture without irrigation or ‘supplements’. We
are pleased with the line up of bulls they are of the type
we are pursuing, moderate, thick meaty bulls with a quiet
temperament and good data.
