FOREWORD

Welcome to the 2021 Sale Catalogue and we are proud to offer 40 bulls this year.
Otapawa is increasing the Stud herd base to be able to offer a bigger selection of progeny
each year.
Our breeding decisions this last few years have been influenced with trying to find quality
carcass sires while not decreasing the terrific maternal and longevity of our females. Our
new outcross sires have come from the USA. While the herds may be run a little bit
different to NZ, the advancements in low birth combined with carcass quality and overall
performance are far superior to any Sires we can find in NZ and cannot be overlooked.
TH Frontier 174E is a sire we believe will provide a production lift to any herd. His second
lot of weaners are in the top half of the 2021 draft. His first daughters are calving this
spring and have been ahead in reaching target weights.
It has been awesome to visit clients and view their operations. We learn a lot about where
our bulls are going and what they need to be to provide profitability to our buyers.

coloured bull.
