We fi rst used tussock in 2016 and his fi rst 5 sons sold in 2019 for an
average of $16200, 2 of those 5 went to stud duties at Stokman angus
(17471 $32000) and Linnburn station (17487 for $17000). It was clear
we needed to use more of this sire and we are glad we have. He has
injected some fantastic carcasse qualities into our programme and we
like how feminine his daughters are, just bold good looking heifers.

Hoover dam I found on a visit to USA May 2018, his daughters are
breed standouts moderate, great uddered powerful cows. Gary wall
stated that “Hoover dam is the leading angus sire in the angus breed
for sire of Dams of high profi le AI sires”. In the USA 2021 Hoover Dam
has 16959 progeny on birth EPD, 16816 progeny on growth EPD, 7277
progeny on carcass EPD, 3441 progeny on scrotal EPD. Rissington
cattle co fi rst imported Hoover dam to New Zealand and the females
did a remarkable job there lasting in the herd for a long period with
great stayability.
