Introduction 2021
Welcome to our annual bull sale. We will be holding our sale under the usual auction system, but with
the continued uncertainty of Covid 19 we will also be using the ONLINE BIDR auction, live streaming
the sale also. This will give prospective buyers and views the option of viewing the sale and also the
opportunity to buy online. It is also in place should we have to return to lockdown levels, due to Covid
You will find instructions towards the back of the catalogue about how to register through the BIDR
system, as you need to be registered as a buyer a few days before our sale day. On sale day you will
need to log into BIDR with your user name and password and register for our Ruaview Simmental and
Angus auction.
We have tried to describe the bulls as accurately as we can, by printing as much information as
possible, including raw data, EBV’s and Beefclass, in the catalogue lots. BeefClass is the only structural
classification in the beef industry. If you don’t measure, how do you know that you are improving?
It is certainly pleasing that the meat schedule is holding up well, with all the shipping problems, but
with the massive shortage of protein worldwide, I can’t see things changing.
The values of selecting bulls to produce faster returns, through better carcass qualities, is so
important , and the use of cross breeding over your lesser types of cows can certainly lift the value of
their offspring. “Keep lifting the bar to reap the rewards”
Our Simmental offering have again performed superbly well, especially the bulls sired by the new
polled bull LRX HP Rocket 23Y, who are looking very promising. We also have 2 bulls by Glen Anthony
Executive AE11,(Who is a LRX HP Rocket 23Y son), producing cattle with outstanding muscling and
docility.
The Angus new sire Karoo Knockout K176 is really exciting. His sons in the sale are all displaying
tremendous carcass qualities, while maintaining a very clean shoulder. The early development of his
sons is impressive, and the docility outstanding.
Our breeding objectives are always based on Production and Reproduction, along with Geneotype
and Phenotype, as one is of no use without the other.
We continue to be an AngusPure partner, which gives you added options for the sale of your Angus
